Why I’m a Rotarian:
“I'm a Rotarian because I believe in the transformative power of friendship, service, and community. As I work to empower Indigenous youth through our home construction training programs, Rotary helps me remember that together, we can build more than just houses - we can build hope, opportunity, and a brighter future for all."

Why I’m a Rotarian:
“As I listen to people's stories (everyone has a story), my search for understanding, not judgment, in a seemingly chaotic world is never-ending. Rotary and the incredible Rotarians with whom I serve keep me grounded in hope and possibility. I am forever grateful.”

Why I’m a Rotarian:
“I joined Rotary sincerely because I wanted to commit time to charity work and support many causes in need within the Calgary area. At the same time, I wanted to meet other people with similar interests and develop new friendships. Although I still have a very busy career that requires a great deal of time, I make time to help others.”

Fundraising
The Rotary Club of Calgary at Stampede Park supports community projects with time, expertise, and funding. Many projects benefit from our members’ skills and volunteer hours. Others are beneficiaries of our successful fundraisers such as the annual Rotary Dream Home lottery sales during the Calgary Stampede and the "Kids at Heart" Golf Classic. Additional funds come from our casino events, member donations to the Calgary Rotary Clubs Foundation and the The Rotary Foundation.
Rotary Partners
Rotary Club of Calgary at Stampede Park Rotary Partners are a group of spouses and friends who support the club through social events, volunteer work, and fundraising. With five annual social gatherings, plus a book club, hiking, dining, and more…Rotary Partners create strong bonds while giving back to their community. Each year, they help our Rotary Club to fundraise for projects, including their biggest event, Rotary Dream Home ticket sales during the Calgary Stampede. In appreciation, the Club Board allocates a significant budget to the Partners for them to assess the needs of various local charities to donate to health, education, community, arts and recreation initiatives.
Take Action with Us
Our History
We began as the Rotary Club of Manchester, chartered by Rotary International in 1955.

With 44 members initially, meetings were held at the Palliser Hotel, then moved to Fort Calgary House
on the Stampede Grounds in 1957. That started our long association with the Calgary Stampede. In 1979,
Fort Calgary House was demolished to make way
for the LRT (Light Rapid Transit). The original fireplace from Fort Calgary House still stands just outside our current location.

The Club made a $200,000 financial contribution
to the Stampede to build the new Rotary House, where we have held weekly meetings since. In 1968, we changed our name to the Rotary Club of Calgary South.

In 2019, our name became the Rotary Club of Calgary at Stampede Park - reflecting both our roots and our vibrant future. Today, we are a dynamic community of 130 dedicated members.
We’re more than a club—we're a welcoming, inclusive network united by a passion for service. Whether supporting local initiatives or international projects, we give generously of our time and resources. Through friendship, fellowship, and shared purpose, we foster a spirit of goodwill that defines who we are.
