In ancient times, China was known as “The Land of the Divine,” referring to a civilization in which immortals and man coexisted. Its culture was characterized as “divinely inspired.” Genuine traditional Chinese culture is far more sophisticated and profound than merely depicted by kung fu techniques, dumplings, and lion dances. Learn about the true essence of this 5,000-year-old ancient culture, some interesting facts, as well as how Shen Yun is seeking to revive the ancient traditions through performing arts.

Shereen Dillon is the Outreach Manager of the Falun Dafa Association of Calgary, the local presenter of the Shen Yun show. She was born and raised in Hong Kong and is of Chinese and South-Asian descent. She worked in the oil & gas industry in Calgary for over 20 years but found her passion in her current volunteer work. She is a proud Canadian citizen and equally proud of her heritage.
