  Tyler Williamson is the Associate Director here at the Centre for Healt
 h Informatics. In addition\, he is an Associate Professor of Biostatistics
  in the Department of Community Health Sciences at the University of Calga
 ry and a member of the O’Brien Institute of Public Health and the Alb
 erta Children’s Hospital research Institute. His research interests incl
 ude health data integration (combining electronic medical record and healt
 h administrative data)\, chronic disease surveillance and research using e
 lectronic medical record data\, and non-canonical link functions for binom
 ial generalized linear models.  He is a national and internationally reco
 gnized in the use of electronic medical record data for public health surv
 eillance\, health services research\, and practice quality improvement wor
 king with organizations such as the Public Health Agency of Canada and Hea
 lth Canada’s Marketed Health Products Directorate. Work at the Centre fo
 r Health Informatics at the Cumming School of Medicine is partially suppor
 ted by the recent awarding of a $100\,000 grant from the Rotary Club of Ca
 lgary at Stampede Park.
